The experience has been positive and now i go forth to make a change in sheffield. its been great being a part of a wide circle and i think our efforts will send a ripple effect and catch the ears of them that matter

Thank you Oxfam Novid, Peter Maissan you are a great man. All conductors this is the way we will be closer through blogging and email and an occasional phonecall. Adios!

How its Been So far

Its been fantastic so far in the sense that i have discovered so many things about whats happening out there in the musicland. What can I say about the workshops. An eyeopener for me as an artist. Peter Maissan definately knows his stuff for sheezy (sure) An old geezer with so much energy and definately knows his compositions.

Wednesday was the first day and a bit intimidating when we were told we would have to conduct. however yours trully managed to weasel out of that one with much ease. for me it was suprising to know how much i remembered from those long days at the Zimbabwe college of music. Thursday was great as Juri took us through the percussion for all the pieces and I assure you he is like thi ambidextrous wizz of percussion, I salute you fella. A Dutch dude with the soul of an African...you da man Juri.

Friday was the dance thing.. and it was good to watch as some of the fellas were prancing about clueless as usual. as for the ladies a sight to behold. Jumana doing what she does best and I dont mean the Tacet parts.

I wont bore you with the trivial details of whats transpired except that its been off the chain. I discovered a few bits about Amsterdam and for the seedy ones of our population you can buy "bud" on the highstreet.

Today i went to the Hague. it was great to work under a diffrent conductor cause it gave me a contrast to how some of these old guys work. You have to know your score inside out to be able to stand up there and do your thing. So its not about flapping your arms in front of the singers and musicians. Its hard hard work y'all but i'm loving it. Its one thing to work in the studio but it does take some cahones grande to bring it to the stage.

Its been a life changing experience so mithinks. I will update you as i go.
